Conservation Planning
ICF Jones & Stokes’ Conservation Planning Group applies itself to the real-world challenges of conserving habitats and species as the human population grows. Conservation biology has been called “the science of scarcity and diversity.”

Our conservation team—composed of ecologists, wildlife biologists, botanists, and fisheries biologists well versed in the techniques and science of conservation biology, many at the Ph.D. level—assists in developing habitat conservation plans that apply the scientific principles of conservation biology to local conditions to create a biologically viable plan to mitigate and conserve target species and habitats. We help create plans that develop viable systems of conservation areas that include corridors and ecological processes needed to support sustainable populations of target species of wildlife, fish, and plants. We apply maps, mathematical models, geographic information systems (GIS) modeling, and other innovative techniques to the principles of conservation biology.
